Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) is the primary protein found on LDL and other atherogenic (artery-clogging) lipoprotein particles. Many cardiologists now consider ApoB to be a better predictor of cardiovascular risk than LDL cholesterol because it directly measures the number of potentially harmful particles in your blood.
