The Advanced Lipid Panel provides a more detailed assessment of cardiovascular risk than a standard lipid panel. Alongside the standard cholesterol markers it measures LDL particle number and size, Apolipoprotein B (the single best measure of atherogenic particle burden), and Lipoprotein(a) — a largely genetic, independent risk factor.
