How does the lab visit work?
1. Order online
Pick your tests, check out, and a licensed physician authorizes the requisition — usually within minutes. You choose Quest or Labcorp at checkout outside NY/NJ.
2. Walk in with the requisition
Use the finder above to pick a site, bring a photo ID, and show the emailed requisition. No insurance card, no payment at the desk — the price you paid is all-in.
3. Results in 1–3 business days
Each test posts to your TestWell portal as the lab finishes it, with reference ranges and plain-English explanations, and you get an email the moment they land.

Which lab runs your test in each state?
In 47 states you choose Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp at checkout. New York and New Jersey route to BioReference under state licensing rules, and Rhode Island isn't served yet. Each state page lists major-metro coverage and state-specific ordering notes.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment at Quest or Labcorp?
Most patient service centers accept walk-ins, and both Quest and Labcorp let you book a time slot online if you'd rather not wait. Bring a photo ID and your TestWell requisition (emailed within minutes of physician authorization; a phone screenshot is fine). The draw itself usually takes under 15 minutes.
Can I use any location, or only the one I picked?
Any location run by the lab named on your requisition. A Quest requisition works at every Quest patient service center nationwide, and the same is true for Labcorp — so you can order at home and draw while traveling. What you can't do is take a Quest requisition to a Labcorp site; if you need to switch labs, contact support and we'll reissue it.
Why does my search only show BioReference in New York or New Jersey?
New York and New Jersey licensing rules mean self-ordered tests in those states are routed to BioReference Laboratories rather than Quest or Labcorp. Your price and results portal are the same; only the draw site changes. Rhode Island is not currently served.
What if the nearest lab is far away?
Requisitions stay valid for weeks, so many people order first and draw on their next trip to a larger town — the finder will show every site within your chosen radius. If no location appears within 100 miles, email support before ordering and we'll confirm coverage for your ZIP.
Do I need to fast before my visit?
Only if your test requires it — lipid panels, glucose and insulin typically do (8–12 hours, water allowed); most hormone, thyroid and vitamin tests don't. Your requisition and order confirmation list the prep for the exact tests you ordered, and morning draws are best for testosterone and cortisol.
