Biological age is an estimate of how your body's routine blood markers compare with people of different ages. This panel collects the nine the PhenoAge model (Levine 2018) uses — albumin, creatinine, glucose and alkaline phosphatase from the metabolic panel; white cells, lymphocyte percentage, MCV and RDW from the blood count; and high-sensitivity CRP — and TestWell calculates the result for you. On your results page you see your phenotypic age ("your markers look like a typical 42-year-old's"), the difference from your calendar age, a likely range, and which markers are pulling the number up or down, alongside the 30-plus individual results a CMP, CBC and hs-CRP report on their own: kidney and liver function, blood sugar, electrolytes, red and white cells, platelets, and inflammation. The useful read is the trend: re-draw the same panel in 3–6 months at the same lab and watch which way the number moves. It is a wellness estimate from a population model, not a diagnosis, and it does not measure your cells or your DNA.
General health testing provides a baseline snapshot of organ function, metabolism, and key biomarkers — useful for annual checkups, preventive care, and tracking changes over time.
Adults wanting a routine wellness baseline, anyone re-engaging with healthcare after a gap, and people tracking the impact of lifestyle or medication changes.

Fast for 10–12 hours before the draw (water is fine) so the glucose result is a fasting value. Draw when you are well — a cold, a recent injury or a hard workout the day before raises hs-CRP and white cells and adds years to the estimate. A morning draw is easiest to repeat.

Prednisone and other corticosteroids, exercise and dehydration can change a Biological Age Panel result without anything being wrong. Prednisone and other corticosteroids can raise Glucose and WBC and can lower Lymphocytes, hs-CRP and Potassium — expected on steroids; A1c over weeks reflects it. Exercise can raise ALT and Creatinine and 2 more markers on this test — rest 48 hours before a liver panel. Dehydration can raise BUN and Hemoglobin and 2 more markers on this test — hydrate normally; water is allowed during a fast. Each is explained on our physician-reviewed "Before your test" pages; when one applies, remove it and retest.
