Function Health vs Superpower (2026): price, draws, markers — and the no-membership option

Two blood-test memberships side by side, with a third column for what the same Quest and Labcorp tests cost when you order them one at a time. Facts read from the brands' public pages on October 22, 2026; sources at the bottom.

Quick answer

Superpower is $199/year for one draw of 100+ biomarkers (57 measured directly); Function Health is $365/year for two draws totaling 160+ lab tests (about 100 measured per annual draw, ~60 repeated mid-year) with clinician review. Superpower is cheaper and gets you a plan faster; Function tests more per draw and tests twice. Both draw at Quest, both are HSA/FSA eligible, both cost more in New York and New Jersey. If you only want a specific handful of markers, neither is the cheap option — paying per test is.

TestWell sells the à la carte alternative to these memberships. Every figure on this page is read from the brands' public pages on the date shown and linked in the sources; tell us if something has changed.

Side by side

Each row is the same fact for all three. Where a brand's own pages disagree with each other, the table says so rather than picking a side.

Who each one is for

Function Health is the better buy when…

  • • You want the widest panel per draw — advanced lipids, omega-3s, lead and mercury, autoimmunity, a full urinalysis — and a second draw six months later.
  • • You want a clinician's written read of every result and will act on the protocol, even if it takes a few weeks to arrive.
  • • You plan to add scans or Galleri and want them inside one membership.

Superpower is the better buy when…

  • • You want a yearly 100-marker baseline for the least money per marker, in an app that also holds your wearables and old labs.
  • • You want a plan the moment results post, plus a care team to message, and a marketplace to act on it.
  • • You are in one of its 41 states + DC and comfortable with results in about 10 days.

Paying per test is the better buy when…

  • • You want specific answers — a lipid panel and ApoB, thyroid, testosterone, vitamin D, an A1c — not 100 markers.
  • • You want results in days, a lab PDF you own, no renewal, and the freedom to retest only what matters ($22 for a CMP in three months, not another membership year).
  • • You are in New York or New Jersey (list price at BioReference), or you want to choose Quest or Labcorp.

Where the memberships beat paying per test

We sell the à la carte option, so here is the other side without hedging.

Function Health

  • •Clinician review of every result with written insights and a personalized protocol
  • •Two draws a year inside the price — the mid-year retest tracks ~60 markers
  • •Built-in AI chat plus ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity integrations for your results
  • •Deep add-on catalog: MRI and CT scans (Ezra), Galleri, Alzheimer's, allergies, PFAS, heavy metals
  • •Advanced lipids (NMR particle number/size), omega-3 fatty acids, lead and mercury in the base panel

Superpower

  • •Lowest per-marker price of the memberships when you want the whole panel
  • •Kin, Superpower's AI, plus a 24/7 care team; protocol delivered as soon as results post
  • •Wearable integration (Apple Health, Whoop, Oura) and upload of past labs into one record
  • •Member marketplace: supplements at up to 20% off, add-on tests, prescriptions when clinically appropriate
  • •Biological age and health scores; ApoB and HbA1c in the base draw

The math, honestly

Per marker, both memberships are cheaper than buying the whole list à la carte — including from us. If you genuinely want 50–100 markers every year, Superpower's $199 or Function's $365 is the rational price.

Most people don't. The four tests an annual physical orders (comprehensive metabolic panel, CBC with differential, lipid panel, TSH) are $49.99 once. Add ApoB, vitamin D, an A1c and a testosterone or estradiol and you are near $150 — paid once, results in 1–3 days, at the same Quest or Labcorp draw site the memberships use. Retesting one marker later costs that one marker, not a renewal.

Breakeven, roughly: against Superpower you need to want about 8 typical $25 markers in a year before the membership costs less; against Function, about 15 — or fewer if you value the clinician write-up and the app, which à la carte does not give you.
