Superpower blood test: what the $199 membership includes, and paying per test instead

What the Superpower membership actually includes — the draw, the marker count, the AI protocol, the states and fees — next to the à la carte alternative: the same tests, ordered one at a time, no membership.

Pricing data verified October 22, 2026.

The verdict

Pick Superpower if you'll definitely test twice a year and want a fixed annual price ($199/yr). Pick TestWell if you want to pay only for the tests you actually need — typically 50-90% less for occasional testing.

Where does TestWell win?

  • •No membership: order the five or ten markers you care about for $30–120 once, instead of $199 a year for 100
  • •Results in 1–3 business days for most tests versus about 10 days; same-day physician authorization
  • •Choice of Quest OR Labcorp at checkout, plus New York and New Jersey via BioReference at list price — Superpower charges $399 in NY/NJ
  • •49 states (Superpower: 41 + DC); no $119 at-home surcharge because we don't upsell at-home draws
  • •Your results are yours: downloadable lab PDF, itemized HSA/FSA receipt with CPT codes, no app required

Where does Superpower win?

  • •Lowest per-marker price of the memberships: about $3.49 per directly measured marker ($199 / 57) if you want the whole baseline
  • •An actual plan: Kin, Superpower's AI, writes a protocol as soon as results land, and a care team answers questions — TestWell gives you the results and the Lab Agent, not coaching
  • •Wearable integration (Apple Health, Whoop, Oura) and upload of past labs into one record, with biological-age and health scores
  • •Member marketplace: supplements at up to 20% off, add-on tests (DEXA, whole-body MRI via Prenuvo, genome, microbiome), prescriptions when clinically appropriate
  • •ApoB and HbA1c in the base draw; the breadth is good value for a first full baseline

We’d rather be honest about where they have an edge — pick the tool that matches your situation.

What is the Superpower blood test?

Superpower sells one product: a $199-a-year membership built around a single annual blood draw of 100+ biomarkers at any of 2,000+ Quest locations (or at home for $119 more). Its own breakdown is 57 markers measured directly and 46 calculated from them — ratios, biological age and similar derived values. Results post to the Superpower app in about 10 days, where Kin, its AI, writes a protocol and a care team answers questions. Members can upload past labs, connect wearables, and buy add-on tests, supplements and prescriptions in the marketplace.

The base draw covers heart and metabolic markers (lipids, ApoB, HbA1c, leptin), thyroid and hormones (TSH, free T4, free T3, estradiol, progesterone, cortisol, PSA), inflammation (hs-CRP, ESR, homocysteine), iron studies and ferritin, B vitamins (B12, folate, B6, MMA) and vitamin D. Superpower publishes category counts rather than a full baseline list; the marker names above are the ones it names on its own pages.

How much does Superpower cost?

$199 a year, charged annually, for one draw and a year of the app and care team. In New York and New Jersey the membership is $399 a year (Superpower's wording: +$200 to cover state fees). An at-home draw adds $119. Add-on tests and marketplace items are priced separately. HSA/FSA eligible; cancel anytime with the membership staying active through the paid year. Verified on superpower.com on 2026-10-22.

Is Superpower legit?

Yes. Superpower is a real company with draws performed by Quest Diagnostics in 41 states plus DC, a published medical advisory board, and a 4.5-star Trustpilot rating it cites on its pages. The caveats are the ones you would expect from a membership product: one draw a year unless you buy more, results in about 10 days rather than days, and a model built to keep you inside the app and marketplace.

Superpower vs Function Health

Superpower is $199 a year for one draw of 100+ biomarkers (57 measured); Function Health is $365 a year for two draws totaling 160+ lab tests (about 100 measured per annual draw, ~60 repeated mid-year) with clinician review. Superpower is cheaper and faster to a plan; Function tests more things per draw and tests twice. Both are Quest-drawn, HSA/FSA eligible, and both charge more or extra in New York and New Jersey. We break it down line by line, with the à la carte option as a third column, on our Function Health vs Superpower page.

Superpower alternatives

For a membership: Function Health (more markers, two draws, clinician review, $365) or InsideTracker (athlete-focused, smaller panel). For no membership: TestWell orders the same tests at the same Quest and Labcorp sites one at a time — from $14.99 a test, or the General Wellness Panel (CMP, CBC, lipids, TSH) for $49.99 once — with results in 1–3 days, NY/NJ at list price via BioReference, and an itemized receipt. If you want all 100 markers every year, Superpower's price per marker is hard to beat; if you want ten of them, à la carte is a fraction of the cost.

When is TestWell not the right choice?

Every service here has real limits, including ours. Skip TestWell — and consider Superpower or another option — if any of these apply to you.

  • You want someone to turn the numbers into a plan. Superpower's AI protocol and care team are the product; TestWell gives you the lab report and the Lab Agent for questions, not coaching.
  • You want wearables, past labs and bloodwork in one app with a biological-age score — TestWell tracks your TestWell results over time, nothing else.
  • You want 100 markers once a year for the least money per marker. At $199 for 57 measured markers Superpower is cheaper per marker than buying all of them à la carte.
  • You can't get to a draw site: TestWell is walk-in only at Quest, Labcorp and BioReference; Superpower offers an at-home draw for $119.
  • You live in Rhode Island — neither service can serve it yet.

Frequently asked questions

Are TestWell and Superpower using the same labs?

When the lab partner is the same (Quest or Labcorp), the actual analysis is identical — same machines, same reference ranges, same CLIA-certified facility. The differences are price, ordering experience, and what's included.

Can I switch from Superpower to TestWell mid-year?

Yes. Lab tests aren't subscriptions you have to cancel — each order stands alone. If you've already paid for a year of Superpower, use what you've paid for, and order any additional tests through TestWell.

Will my doctor accept TestWell results?

Yes. Your results are CLIA-certified lab results from Quest or Labcorp — the same labs your doctor uses. You can download a PDF and bring it to any provider.

Can I buy a single test from Superpower?

No — Superpower is membership-only; add-on tests are sold to members on top of the $199. TestWell sells every test and panel à la carte with no membership.

How long do Superpower results take?

Superpower says results are typically ready in about a week and land in the app within 10 days; the AI protocol is generated as soon as they do. Most TestWell results post in 1–3 business days after the draw.

Does Superpower work in New York and New Jersey?

Yes, at $399 a year instead of $199 (Superpower adds $200 for state fees). TestWell serves New York and New Jersey at list price through BioReference draw sites.
