This is a blood test for people who suspect they're allergic to cats or dogs — it is not a veterinary test for a pet's allergies. It measures IgE antibodies specific to dog and cat allergens. Human pet allergies are triggered by proteins found in an animal's dander (dead skin flakes), saliva, and urine — not their fur.
