Total estrogens measures the combined levels of estradiol, estrone, and estriol in your blood. In women, estrogen levels fluctuate throughout the menstrual cycle and decline significantly during menopause. In men, elevated estrogen can cause gynecomastia, mood changes, and other symptoms. This test is useful for evaluating fertility, menopause, hormone replacement therapy, and conditions like PCOS.
Measures total circulating estrogens (estrone E1 + estradiol E2 + estriol E3). Used in fertility workups, monitoring HRT, evaluating premature ovarian insufficiency, and male estrogen excess.
Women evaluating fertility or HRT response, women with menopause symptoms, men with gynecomastia or symptoms of estrogen dominance (often on TRT without aromatase inhibition).
