This test measures varicella-zoster virus (VZV) IgG antibodies at Quest and reports the result as a numeric antibody index (a signal-to-cutoff ratio) with the lab's interpretation — an index of 1.00 or higher is positive, meaning immunity from prior chickenpox or vaccination. That number is what nursing, EMT, paramedic, and other allied-health programs mean when a health form says the varicella titer must "show values" or be "quantitative"; a report that only says Reactive gets sent back.
