# What blood tests check for causes of night sweats?

> Night sweats are most often hormonal — perimenopause and menopause in women, low testosterone in men — or thyroid-related, and those are testable: FSH, LH, estradiol, TSH with Free T4, and a CBC. Drenching sweats with fever, weight loss or swollen glands are a different category that needs a clinician, not a test kit.

### Can hormone tests confirm perimenopause?

They support it — a rising FSH and falling estradiol fit the picture — but levels swing day to day during perimenopause, so a single normal result doesn't exclude it. Symptoms and cycle history carry the diagnosis.
