# Quest Diagnostics & Labcorp Hours: Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays and 2026 Holiday Closures

*When patient service centers open and close, which ones take Saturday or Sunday draws, how appointments and walk-ins work, the holidays both labs observe in 2026, and how to plan a draw around Thanksgiving and Christmas so your results are not delayed.*

> Most Quest Diagnostics and Labcorp patient service centers open between 6:30 and 8:00 am and close between 3:30 and 5:00 pm on weekdays; many offer Saturday mornings, and only a small number open on Sundays. Hours are set location by location — neither lab publishes a single national schedule — so check the specific site before you go. Both labs close on Thanksgiving Day (November 26, 2026), Christmas Day and New Year's Day; the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve are typically open with reduced hours at many sites, and lab processing slows through those weeks. For a fasting draw, go first thing on a weekday, Tuesday through Thursday, and avoid the day before a holiday for tests with short specimen stability.

## Typical weekday hours at Quest and Labcorp

Both laboratories run their blood-draw sites — patient service centers — on a weekday schedule built around morning fasting draws. Most **Quest Diagnostics** centers open between 6:30 and 8:00 am and close between 3:30 and 5:00 pm; most **Labcorp** centers open between 7:00 and 8:00 am and close between 4:00 and 5:30 pm. A minority of sites in both networks close for lunch (usually 12:00 to 1:00 pm), and some inside clinics or hospitals keep that building's hours instead.

Neither lab publishes one national timetable, because the hours are set site by site: a center in a medical office park may open at 6:30 am and close at 3:00 pm, while one in a retail strip opens at 8:00 and runs to 5:30. Quest's and Labcorp's FAQs both say the same thing — look up the specific location. [Our lab finder](https://www.test-well.com/lab-locations) shows each site's own hours, pulled from the laboratories' location data, so you can check before you leave the house.

Two patterns hold almost everywhere: the first hour after opening is busiest (fasting patients), and the last half hour before closing is when sites stop taking walk-ins. If you need a fasting draw, arrive at opening; if you do not, late morning or early afternoon on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday is the quietest time.

## Saturday hours

Many Quest Diagnostics centers open on **Saturday mornings**, typically from 7:00 or 8:00 am until 11:00 am or noon; a smaller share stay open into the early afternoon. Labcorp offers Saturday hours at a subset of its locations — it has been expanding early-morning, evening and weekend appointment slots — but a given Labcorp center is less likely than a given Quest center to be open on Saturday.

Saturday is the day the locators matter most. Sites that are open Saturday often run shorter hours than their weekday schedule and may offer fewer services (drug screens and some specialty collections are weekday-only at many sites). Because fewer centers are open, the ones that are tend to be busier, and appointments fill up a day or two ahead. Check your site's Saturday hours in [the finder](https://www.test-well.com/lab-locations), and if the nearest center is closed, the finder will show the next closest that is open.

One timing note: samples drawn late on a Saturday may not be processed until Monday, so results from a Saturday draw can take a day or two longer than the same test drawn on a Tuesday.

## Sunday hours

Sunday draws are uncommon. A small number of Quest Diagnostics centers — mostly those inside retail stores — open on Sundays, usually for a few hours around midday; Labcorp Sunday hours are rare. If you search for a Sunday option, expect to travel further than usual and to need an appointment.

If your test is not time-sensitive, a Monday-morning draw is usually easier than hunting for a Sunday site. If it is time-sensitive — a result you need for a Monday appointment, for example — Saturday morning is the realistic weekend option at both labs, and hospital outpatient labs (which take outside requisitions at some facilities) are the fallback.

## Appointments versus walk-ins

Both labs accept walk-ins at most patient service centers, and both give scheduled appointments priority. Quest says it plainly: appointments are strongly encouraged and receive priority; walk-ins wait for the next available opening, though most patients are still served in under twenty minutes. Labcorp's locator notes that walk-in availability varies by location and lists it on each site's card.

In practice: a walk-in on a Tuesday afternoon is usually quick; a walk-in at 7:30 am on a Monday or on a Saturday can mean a long wait or being turned away near closing. When you order through TestWell you receive a requisition by email as soon as the physician authorizes it; you can then walk into any center in the network you chose, or book a Quest appointment for a time you prefer. Bring the requisition (on your phone is fine at both labs) and a photo ID.

## 2026 holiday closures

Both laboratories close their patient service centers on the major federal holidays. Labcorp publishes its observed holidays, and Quest's centers follow essentially the same calendar:

- **New Year's Day** — Thursday, January 1, 2026: closed.
- **Memorial Day** — Monday, May 25: closed at most sites.
- **Independence Day (observed)** — Friday, July 3: closed at most sites; the holiday itself falls on a Saturday.
- **Labor Day** — Monday, September 7: closed at most sites.
- **Thanksgiving Day** — Thursday, November 26: closed. The **day after Thanksgiving** (Friday, November 27) is a limited-operations day for Labcorp's laboratories; many patient centers at both labs are open with reduced hours, but some are closed, so check your site.
- **Christmas Eve** — Thursday, December 24: many sites open with shortened hours (often closing by early afternoon). **Christmas Day** — Friday, December 25: closed.
- **New Year's Eve** — Thursday, December 31: typically open, often with shortened hours; **New Year's Day 2027** closed.

Smaller holidays — Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Columbus/Indigenous Peoples' Day, Veterans Day — are regular working days at nearly all patient service centers. Hours on every holiday-adjacent day are set locally, which is why both labs' own FAQs say "check the location." [Our finder](https://www.test-well.com/lab-locations) shows each site's posted hours; on the holiday-adjacent days above it is worth confirming by phone before a long drive.

## How holiday weeks affect your results

Your sample is drawn at the patient service center but tested at a regional laboratory, and it is the laboratory's schedule — plus the couriers between them — that holiday weeks disrupt. Labcorp's own holiday guidance to clinics makes the two practical rules explicit, and they apply to Quest equally:

- **Do not draw tests with short specimen stability the day before a holiday.** Some tests must be processed within hours (certain hormone, coagulation and specialty tests); a Wednesday-before-Thanksgiving draw can sit over the holiday. Routine chemistry, lipids, A1c, thyroid and most hormone tests are stable for days and are not affected.
- **Expect results to take longer around Thanksgiving and Christmas.** Laboratories run reduced shifts on and around the holiday; a test that normally reports in one business day may take two or three. If you need a result for an appointment, draw it the week before.

For Thanksgiving week 2026, the best draw days are **Monday November 23 and Tuesday November 24**, first thing in the morning. For the Christmas–New Year stretch, draw in the week of December 14 or wait for the first full week of January; December 21–23 works for routine tests but results will be slower. Fasting draws are easiest on those early-week mornings, when sites open at their normal time and are fully staffed.

## How to check the exact hours for your location

Three reliable ways, in order of convenience:

1. **[TestWell's lab finder](https://www.test-well.com/lab-locations)** — enter a ZIP code to see the nearest Quest Diagnostics, Labcorp and BioReference centers with each site's address, phone, distance and posted hours, and a link to its own page. This is the same location data the laboratories publish.
2. **The laboratory's locator** — Quest's location finder and Labcorp's Labs & Appointments page both show hours per site and flag temporary closures, and Labcorp's marks a site closed today with a red label.
3. **Call the site** on holiday-adjacent days — Black Friday, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve — when posted hours are most likely to be shortened at short notice.

Ordering through TestWell does not tie you to one site: the requisition we email you is valid at any patient service center in the network you chose (Quest or Labcorp; BioReference in New York and New Jersey), so if your usual center is closed you can use the next nearest one that is open.

## Fasting draws and other timing details

Tests that require fasting — a lipid panel, fasting glucose, the Comprehensive and Basic Metabolic Panels when your clinician wants a fasting value — are easiest at opening time: you fast overnight, draw at 7:00 am, and eat afterward. Most centers see the heaviest traffic in that first hour, so an appointment is worth making. Water is fine during a fast; black coffee is not for most lipid and glucose tests.

Tests that do not require fasting — a CBC, thyroid tests, vitamin D, most hormone tests, STI tests — can be drawn at any open hour, and mid-morning to early afternoon on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday is the quietest. Some tests prefer a morning draw for biological reasons rather than fasting: testosterone and cortisol are highest early in the day and are usually drawn before 10:00 am.

Whatever the test, bring the requisition (email or printed) and a government photo ID, confirm the name and date of birth the center records match your requisition, and allow about 15 minutes for check-in and the draw itself.

## Frequently asked questions

### What time does Quest Diagnostics open?

Most Quest patient service centers open between 6:30 and 8:00 am on weekdays, with 7:00 am the most common opening time, and close between 3:30 and 5:00 pm. Hours are set per location — check your site in our lab finder or Quest's locator before you go.

### What time does Labcorp open and close?

Most Labcorp patient service centers open between 7:00 and 8:00 am and close between 4:00 and 5:30 pm on weekdays; some close for lunch. Labcorp lists each site's hours on its location card and flags temporary closures, so the locator is the authority for your specific center.

### Is Labcorp open on Saturday?

Some Labcorp locations are, typically for a morning or half day, and Labcorp has been adding weekend appointment slots. Many are not. Check the specific site; if yours is closed on Saturday, the finder shows the next nearest center that is open.

### Is Quest Diagnostics open on Saturday?

Many Quest centers open Saturday mornings, commonly 7:00 or 8:00 am to 11:00 am or noon, with shorter hours and sometimes fewer services than on weekdays. Saturday sites are busier than usual, so book an appointment where possible.

### Is Quest or Labcorp open on Sunday?

Rarely. A small number of Quest centers — often those inside retail stores — open for a few hours on Sunday; Labcorp Sunday hours are uncommon. If you need a weekend draw, Saturday morning is the realistic option at both labs.

### Is Labcorp or Quest open on Thanksgiving?

No — patient service centers at both labs are closed on Thanksgiving Day (November 26, 2026). The Friday after is a limited-operations day: many centers open with reduced hours, some stay closed, and lab processing is slower, so results from that week take longer.

### Is Labcorp open on Black Friday?

Many Labcorp and Quest centers are open on the day after Thanksgiving, usually with shortened hours, but it varies by site and Labcorp's laboratories run limited operations that day. Confirm your location's hours, and expect a slower turnaround on results.

### Is Labcorp open on Christmas Eve?

Typically yes, with shortened hours — many sites close by early afternoon on December 24 — and closed on Christmas Day. New Year's Eve follows the same pattern, with New Year's Day closed. Check the exact site, since holiday-adjacent hours are set locally.

### Do I need an appointment at Quest or Labcorp?

No, both accept walk-ins at most centers, but appointments are given priority — Quest says so explicitly — and a walk-in may wait for the next opening, especially early on weekday mornings and on Saturdays. For a fasting draw at opening time, an appointment is worth making.

### Will my results be delayed over the holidays?

Often by a day or two. Laboratories run reduced shifts around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's, and couriers are limited. Draw routine tests early in the holiday week, and avoid drawing tests with short specimen stability the day before a holiday, as Labcorp's own holiday guidance advises.
