# TestWell vs Everlywell

> Pick Everlywell if you can't or won't visit a lab in person — at-home collection is their advantage. Pick TestWell for a venous draw (the reference method), faster end-to-end results, and lower per-test cost.

At-home finger-prick kits with free shipping and physician-reviewed results. Everlywell is the best-known at-home lab testing brand: you order a kit, collect a finger-prick (or saliva/urine) sample at home, mail it back with the prepaid label, and physician-reviewed results post to your account a few days after the lab receives it. Kits run roughly $49-$249 with free shipping and are HSA/FSA eligible; Everlywell also sells virtual care visits alongside many tests. Standard kits are not available to New York residents because of that state's separate lab-approval rules.

## Where does TestWell win?

- Venous blood draws are the reference method for most of these markers; finger-prick dried-blood-spot results can differ from a standard lab draw
- Lower prices on every test we both offer (Thyroid: $109.99 for TSH, Free T4, Free T3, Reverse T3 and TPO vs $149 for four markers; A1c $21.99 vs $49; Testosterone $33.99 vs $69)
- Faster end-to-end turnaround — 1-3 business days from the draw, with no kit shipping either direction
- ~150 tests and 60+ panels vs roughly 30 kits — including markers that can't be collected by finger prick
- New York is served (via BioReference); Everlywell's standard kits aren't sold to NY residents

## Where does Everlywell win?

- True at-home collection — no lab visit, free shipping both ways
- Strong brand and consumer-friendly results design, with lifestyle guidance attached to each result
- Food-sensitivity, gut-microbiome and multi-cancer screening products that aren't part of TestWell's catalog
- Virtual care visits and prescriptions can be added to certain tests

## When is TestWell not the right choice?

- You want a clinician consult included. A licensed physician authorizes every TestWell order, but that review is not a visit — there is no call to walk through results unless you bring them to your own provider.
- You can't get to a draw site. TestWell is venous-draw only at Quest, Labcorp and BioReference locations; we don't ship at-home finger-prick kits.
- You live in Rhode Island — we can't serve it yet. New York and New Jersey orders route to BioReference locations only, which means fewer draw sites than Quest or Labcorp offer elsewhere.
- You need insurance billed. TestWell is cash-pay; HSA/FSA cards work and every order gets an itemized receipt, but we don't file claims.
- You need a specialty assay outside our catalog (~150 tests and 60+ panels). The big marketplaces list 1,000–2,000 SKUs; we deliberately don't.

## Frequently asked questions

### Are TestWell and Everlywell using the same labs?

When the lab partner is the same (Quest or Labcorp), the actual analysis is identical — same machines, same reference ranges, same CLIA-certified facility. The differences are price, ordering experience, and what's included.

### Can I switch from Everlywell to TestWell mid-year?

Yes. Lab tests aren't subscriptions you have to cancel — each order stands alone. If you've already paid for a year of Everlywell, use what you've paid for, and order any additional tests through TestWell.

### Will my doctor accept TestWell results?

Yes. Your results are CLIA-certified lab results from Quest or Labcorp — the same labs your doctor uses. You can download a PDF and bring it to any provider.

### Are Everlywell finger-prick results as accurate as a lab blood draw?

Everlywell's kits are processed by CLIA-certified labs and are validated for the dried-blood-spot method, so they're legitimate tests. The venous draw you get at Quest, Labcorp or BioReference is still the reference method most clinicians and reference ranges are built around, and some markers can only be measured that way. If your result will drive a treatment decision, a venous draw is the safer default; if convenience is the priority, a kit is a reasonable first look.

### Which is faster, Everlywell or TestWell?

TestWell, in most cases. A TestWell order is usually authorized within minutes, you can draw the same day, and most results post in 1-3 business days. Everlywell's timeline includes shipping the kit to you, collecting the sample, mailing it back, and then a few days of lab processing.
