# What does a high Eosinophils mean?

> High eosinophils (eosinophilia) most often point to allergy — asthma, eczema, hay fever, drug reactions — or a parasitic infection, especially after travel. Some medications, autoimmune conditions and adrenal insufficiency raise them; persistent marked elevation (above ~1.5 × 10³/µL) is evaluated for eosinophilic disorders and, rarely, blood cancers.

### Is a slightly high eosinophil percentage a concern?
